* June 21, 1887: MONSTER STRAWBERRY grown by Sam Swartout.
* June 22, 1905: After heavy rainstorm entire city is thrown into wild
stampeding PANIC when rumore spreads that the new 30' dam in Six Mile
Creek burst. "The water is coming! Run for your lives!"
* June 23, 1886: A specimen of wheat, the straw of which 5' 4", picked
on farm of F.H. Tarbell. 78% of the land area of Tompkins County was
then in active farms.
* June 24, 1672: Father Carbeil, a missionary among the Cayugas, writes

---"The present [Lightlink] spam trap depends on Subject lines: it does
a 'fuzzy' match between the subject lines of incoming mail & a
database of known spam subject lines. If there is a match, it marks the
mail as spam.
---"The spammers however are getting wise to this & are sending
nonsense subject lines, which the system can not tell are nonsense, but
since every spam has a different line, none match the database,
& so it gets through anyhow. Within a a few months the present
spam trap system will be totally useless.
---"The present system also generates too many false positives, as the
spammers know exactly how to form a readable subject line that looks
like that order you just received!
---"We are moving towards a much more complex anti spam system based on
products like Spam Assassin & mathematical algorithms that
match word patterns through out the e-mail. Basic problem with all of
these is they are VERY SLOW & CPU intensive, although their hit
rate is supposed to be very good & false positives very low.

the new franchise agreement, some changes will take place.

---"The present [Lightlink] spam trap depends on Subject lines: it does
a 'fuzzy' match between the subject lines of incoming mail & a
database of known spam subject lines. If there is a match, it marks the
mail as spam.
---"The spammers however are getting wise to this & are sending
nonsense subject lines, which the system can not tell are nonsense, but
since every spam has a different line, none match the database,
& so it gets through anyhow. Within a a few months the present
spam trap system will be totally useless.
---"The present system also generates too many false positives, as the
spammers know exactly how to form a readable subject line that looks
like that order you just received!
---"We are moving towards a much more complex anti spam system based on
products like Spam Assassin & mathematical algorithms that
match word patterns through out the e-mail. Basic problem with all of
these is they are VERY SLOW & CPU intensive, although their hit
rate is supposed to be very good & false positives very low.
